This photo from the January 2nd, 1957 championship bout between Gene Fullmer and Sugar Ray Robinson was featured on the April 29th, 1957 issue of Sports Illustrated in anticipation of the legendary rematch between two historic fighters. Fullmer beat Robinson by unanimous decision after 15 rounds in the first fight – only to lose in the rematch by TKO.
