Description

Considered the most famous photograph in the history of golf, and one of Hy’s favorites. Less than a year after a near-fatal collision with a greyhound bus, Hogan made a miraculous recovery to play in the US Open. Noticeably in pain and behind the leaders, Hogan went against the grain and used a 1-Iron to get from the fairway to the green in one of the most famous comebacks in the history of sports. This photo captures the grace of the sport and of Hogan’s historic performance against all odds. He went on to win the tournament in sudden death.
